Both Dutch riders had already sealed the individual titles before the last race of 2019 today, with Smulders wrapping things up with victory yesterday on the same course.

Kimmann claimed the men's crown at the previous event in Rock Hill, United States.

They each ended their World Cup campaigns on a high note, while also ensuring The Netherlands finished top of the nations rankings for both men and women.

Smulders won the women's race in a time of 33.463sec, in front of Russia's Natalia Afremova in 34.250 in second place and Felicia Stancil of the US who was third in 34.331.

It means Smulders finishes the season on 2,225 points, in front of American Alise Willoughby – who did not race in Argentina – on 1,800.

Stancil's third was enough to put her in the overall bronze medal spot with 1,640.

In the women's nation rankings, The Netherlands finish with 3,673, above the US on 3,440, while France came third on 2,440.

Kimmann won the men's race in a time of 30.681, over Swiss rider David Graf in 30.929. 

Gonzalo Molina – who won yesterday's race in front of his home crowd – was third in 31.451.

The Dutchman finishes the season on 2,160, well ahead of runner-up Joris Daudet of France on 1,430, while his compatriot Sylvain Andre took third overall on 1,414.

In the men's nation standings, The Netherlands narrowly finished in front of France, with 4,600 points compared to their rivals' 4,189.

The US ended well back in third on 2,787.
