Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) has signed-up ANZ as an official partner.

The deal with the financial giant – the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group – comes as preparations continue for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

New Zealand Paralympians Jesse Reynolds, a swimmer, and Holly Robinson, a javelin thrower, have become ANZ ambassadors as part of the link-up.

"We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with ANZ and believe their support of Para-sport and Para-athletes in New Zealand will assist significantly," said PNZ chief executive Fiona Allan.

"It is great to welcome ANZ to the Paralympic family and join a group of passionate and supportive PNZ partners.

"This partnership is an example of an increasing number of large brands seeing the incredible value of Para-sport and its ability to promote and celebrate diversity and inclusion."

Antonia Watson, the acting chief executive of ANZ, added: "We are proud to be supporting such an amazing group of athletes whose hard work, dedication and success continues to inspire us.

"Alongside our sponsorship of the New Zealand Paralympic team, we are supporting up-and-coming athletes through the new ANZ Paralympic Pathway Programme.

"This programme will provide athletes financial support and education while they continue to develop in their sport and as individuals.

"These next 12 months of training are going to be important for PNZ and their athletes, and we're looking forward to being involved and supporting them as they gear up for Tokyo and beyond."
