The United States National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) has announced its 2020 National Championship Series will be staged in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Series, the main national tournament for women's wheelchair basketball in the US, will be held from March 27 and 29.

Competition will take place at the Ability360 Sports and Fitness Centre for Persons with Disabilities.

The facility, which has two basketball courts, has hosted numerous NWBA events previously.

Designed to cater for disabled athletes, the facility has a therapy pool and spa, accessible dressing rooms and showers and a specially designed gym with accessible equipment.

"We are really excited to go back to Phoenix," said Women’s division chair Darlene Hunter.

"Ability360 always does a great job of hosting wheelchair basketball events for various NWBA divisions and Phoenix has a lot to offer, including great weather in March.

"We appreciate the Ability360 team hosting our national tournament and look forward to working on it with them to give our Women’s division and fans another great experience.”
