The Canadian women's ice hockey team will hold their annual season-opening training camp in Liverpool, Nova Scotia next month.

The annual BFL National Women’s Team Fall Festival takes place at the start of every ice hockey season for the coaches to develop and evaluate their players.

It will be held between September 9 and 15 at the Queens Place Emera Centre and will feature two intra-squad friendlies as well as two games against local junior hockey clubs.

The squad will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fans are able to buy one ticket to access all four games, while practice games will be free to watch.

“We are excited to bring Canada’s national women’s team to the community of Liverpool for seven days of highly-competitive games and practices, and to provide young hockey fans the chance to watch their role models at an affordable price," Hockey Canada director of events and properties Ryan Robins said.

Nova Scotia comes prior is set to host the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship.

The cities of Halifax and Truro will host matches as Canada aim for their first World Championship gold since 2012.
