Qatar bounced back from their opening-day defeat against hosts Singapore by recording an impressive four-wicket win over Nepal at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup Asian Regional Finals Qualifier.

Some fantastic out-field catching helped Qatar restrict Nepal, the event's highest-ranked team in the world at number 11, to a total of 122 at the Indian Association Ground.

They reached their winning target after 19.2 overs, finishing on 124-6 with player of the match Inam-ul-Haq top scoring on 41 runs from 32 balls.

Today's other scheduled game, between Singapore and Kuwait, was abandoned due to rain and is to be re-arranged.

Action is set to continue tomorrow with Nepal facing a Malaysian side fresh from their 42-run victory over Kuwait yesterday.

The team which tops the round-robin table will book their spot at the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates in October and November.

That event will in turn offer six places at the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Zimbabwe, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Oman, Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Namibia and Jersey have already qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier.
