Hosts Germany came out on top as the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Dressage Nations Cup series continued with a Grand Prix CDIO5* event in Aachen today.

The home nation triumphed with a total of 242.392 per cent at the Deutsche Bank Stadium after Isabell Werth finished first with 82.783, Dorothee Schneider ranked second with 80.609 and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl ended up fourth with 79.000.

Denmark's trio of Cathrine Dufour, Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Agnete Kirk Thinggaard were the runners-up with 228.174 per cent, while the United States' Adrienne Lyle, Steffen Peters and Katherine Bateson-Chandler rounded off the podium with 225.392.

Helen Langehanenberg, Anders Dahl and Shelly Francis were the lowest scorers for Germany, Denmark and the US respectively, meaning their percentages did not count towards the team totals.

FEI Dressage Nations Cup leaders Sweden finished fourth, while Great Britain, Ireland and Spain completed the seven-strong standings.

Britain's Charlotte Dujardin was the individual bronze medallist with 79.152 per cent.

A Grand Prix Special CDIO5* event is scheduled to take place in Aachen on Saturday (July 20).

Both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special form part of the World Equestrian Festival, which is set to conclude on Sunday (July 21).
