Sweden claimed home victory in the International Equestrian Federation Dressage Nations Cup event in Falsterbo today.

The hosts enjoyed an overnight lead going into the Grand Prix special and freestyle events and performed well again to triumph at Falsterbo Horse Arena.

It capped a good day for Swedish riders who also won the Jumping Nations Cup title being held in Falsterbo.

Denmark's Daniel Bachmann Andersen won yesterday's Grand Prix title with Blue Hors Zack but Sweden took the other two podium spots thanks to Patrik Kittel and Juliette Ramel respectively to put themselves in a strong position.

Kittel boosted their hopes by claiming top honours in today's Grand Prix special, scoring 73.532 per cent on board Well Done de La Roche.

Ramel strengthened her country's position further with a second-placed finish, tallying 72.766 with Wall Street, while Germany's Frederic Wandres and Westminster 71 scored 71.149 in third.

In the freestyle Bachmann Andersen was again the winner with 85.020, as Germany's Jan-Dirk Giesselmann came second with Real Dancer Frh, scoring 77.575.

Sweden were able to finish third and fourth to give them enough points for overall glory.

Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson's rock and roll programme with Eddieni was awarded 77.625 in third place as Minne Telde and Isac scored 75.215 in fourth.

The hosts were awarded a score of 22.000 in first position with Germany second on 27.000 and The Netherlands third on 40.000.

The Swedes now lead the overall Dressage Nations Cup standings on 46 points with the Dutch on 30 and Germany on 29.

Britain and the United States follow on 28 and 27 respectively.
