The International Floorball Federation (IFF) will test a new format as it begins the process of renewing its strategy for the period 2021to 2032.

Geared towards the development of the sport at a local, national and international level, the floorball changes would see a format that sees playing times reduced from three 20-minute periods to three 15-minute periods.

In conjunction with several Member Associations, the IFF's Central Board has approved test events throughout the 2019-2020 season.

In the Czech Republic and Finland, three 15-minute periods will be trialled with group matches of the UK National finals running the same time periods, but with a five minute intermission and the playing field restricted to 33 metres long by 18 metres wide.

The 2020 President Cup in South Korea follows the same time guidelines as Finland and Czech Republic.

The Six Nations Cup, to feature Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Slovakia will run the same three 15-minute periods as in the experiments in Britain and the Czech Republic.

Plans for the Swiss Cup and Junior series in Switzerland are still to be confirmed.

The IFF are aiming to create a more operational strategy for the sport with a focus on its future development.
