In the battle for the minor medals, Russian Evgenii Aroian had to rely on countback to his qualifying performance to secure the silver medal ahead of home favourite Johan Tonnoir.

Both Aroian and Tonnoir had collected 25.5 points from the judges.

Luciano Balestra of the Netherlands was fourth and Greek veteran Dimitris Kyrsanidis finished down in seventh.

Thailand's Victor Salmon had qualified in first position for the wakeboard pro final and he produced the goods when it mattered to clinch victory.

Salmon showed great trickery to win gold, amassing a score of 75.00, with Frenchman Jules Charraud claiming silver with 71.67.

Pedro Machado Caldas added another medal to the French collection, claiming bronze with a score of 69.78.
