Running as part of the International Festival of Extreme Sports (FISE) World Series event in the southern French city, Greece's Kyrsanidis could only finish 10th, one position outside the qualifying places.

Kyrsanidis, who had been expected to feature at the top of both the freestyle and speed run standings, will instead have to focus his attention on tomorrow's freestyle qualification.

He had produced a superb technical display to win the men's freestyle final in Hiroshima, Japan in April, but did not make the cut for Sunday's final.

Matěj Srovnal from the Czech Republic was the best qualifier, with Great Britain's David Nelmes second and Alberto Gomez of Spain third.

Czech ace Vendula Merkova was also in top form as she qualified in first place for the Women's World Cup.

Aleksandra Shevchenko of Russia, Mexico's Karla Castellano Gonzalez and Hiraki Izumi from Japan were the best of the rest. 

Spain's 10-year-old wonderkid, Daniela Terol Mendez, stole the show in the women's skateboard street final, top scoring with 85 points to claim the top prize.

With a bag full of tricks, she wowed the watching crowd and finished seven points clear of Argentina's Aldana Bertran.

Melisa Ruiz, also from Argentina, finished third with 74 points.

It was a case of down and out of the Roller Freestyle Park World Cup for Frenchman Diako Diaby, as he failed to make the cut after two attempts to land a huge 1,260 rotation.

His first fail sapped a lot of energy and speed and he was unable to recover, leaving the usual suspects to contest the final.

Briton Joe Atkinson managed the pressure better than his rivals and his use of the safety rails landed him the favourite tag going into tomorrow's final.

France's Jeremy Melique was his nearest rival, two points adrift, with South Korean rider Yoon Jay Jongh qualifying in third.

Japan's Chihiro Azuma qualified with the top score, 76.50 points, for the women's final on Sunday.

A double flip, triple whip, from Britain's Jamie Hull, was enough to claim first place in the scooter freestyle pro contest, while the amateur skateboard spine ramp podium was filled by Frenchmen Valentin Novo, Elson Patrick and Maxime Denis.

Novo outclassed the field with 85 points, with Patrick in second, four points behind.

Denis completed the rostrum with 76 points.
