After winning their group yesterday, the holders proved far too strong for Turkey at Suphanburi Stadium as they recorded a comprehensive 70-15 victory.

It sets up a semi-final appearance with Australia who made the last four for the third consecutive time thanks to their 72-12 demolition of South Africa.

A huge 32-point haul by Australian skipper Annabelle Lindsay made the difference as they steamrolled into the last four.

"We played really well as a team, we got everyone off the bench which is always good and we got almost everyone on to the scoresheet except for our little one Tori, who is the baby of the team and adorable," said Australia's Georgia Bishop Cash.

"It was a really good team effort and we all had fun out there.

"Looking forward to the semi-final, we'll be looking to back up our other wins, make sure we know our defensive structure well, make sure we pass it around and make sure we enjoy ourselves."

All eight countries at the tournament made the quarter-finals with their group performance determining who played who.

Hosts Thailand's losing run continued as they were beaten 65-10 by unbeaten United States.

The Americans, will now play Japan, who saw off Germany in the closest quarter-final of the day, 42-37.

It marked history for Japan who had not made this stage before.

"I think we won because we have very strong team work and without the team working together as they did, we could not win," said Japanese skipper Kimi Yoshioka.

"We will go into the semi-final and just do what we need to do and play like we have done."

Both semi-finals will take place tomorrow.
