Jayasundara has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect.

He was charged under Article 2.1.3 for offering a bribe or other reward to the Sri Lankan Sports Minister to contrive in any way or otherwise influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or any other aspect of an international match or, in the alternative, under Article 2.1.1 for contriving in any way or otherwise influencing improperly the result, progress, conduct or any other aspect of an international match.

Jayasundara was also charged under Article 2.4.7 for obstructing or delaying an ICC Anti-Corruption Unit investigation into possible corrupt conduct under the Anti-Corruption Code.

He has until May 25 to respond to the charges.

Last week, Avishka Gunawardene became the latest former Sri Lanka international to be charged with match-fixing by the ICC.

Gunawardene was provisionally suspended with immediate effect after he was found to have breached two counts of the Emirates Cricket Board Anti-Corruption Code.

The ICC also said former Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Zoysa had been hit with an additional charge of "failing or refusing, without compelling justification, to cooperate with any investigation carried out by the Anti-Corruption Unit".

Zoysa, who played in 30 Tests and 95 one-day internationals for his country during the 10 years between 1997 and 2007, was provisionally suspended in October.

Sri Lankan cricket has been rocked by a number of scandals in recent years, including a match-fixing controversy revealed by an Al-Jazeera television documentary a year ago.
