Colleen Piketh has proved in fine form in the women’s singles as she claimed a further two victories today.

She emerged as a 21-9 winner against Spain’s Maggie Holmes, before overcoming Brazil’s Fernanda Spelta 21-5.

Piketh’s efforts have place South Africa top of the section one standings in the women’s singles, following six wins and one defeat.

South Africa have a total of 18 points in the standings, with Guernsey, Israel and Ireland all following on 15,

Scotland top the second singles section on 15 points, followed by Wales and England.

The women’s fours event sees Jacqui Van Rensburg, Nici Neal, Esmé Kruger, Anneke Snyman of South Africa top of the section one standings on 16 points.

The quartet beat Turkey 23-8 today, before overcoming Namibia 24-4.

England head the second section on 15 points.

Scotland are impressing in the men’s events with their pairs team Paul Foster and Alex Marshall heading the section two standings on 15 points after wins against Malta and Botswana today.

Ireland head the first section of 21 points, followed by Namibia.

In the men’s triples the Scottish team lead the section one standings on 15 points, while Jersey head the second on 16.
