Hosts Brazil hammered Ecuador today to make it three wins out of three in Group A and seal their spot in the semi-finals of the South American Football Confederation qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

Following victories over Bolivia and Colombia, the reigning world champions triumphed 11-2 at the Parque Olímpico.

It moves Brazil level on nine points with Uruguay, who they face tomorrow in a Group A decider.

Today’s other Group A match saw Colombia beat Bolivia 6-4 to ensure they will finish third and contest the fifth-place play-off on Sunday (May 5). 

The two semi-finalists from Group B have also been confirmed with Paraguay and Argentina both advancing.

Paraguay, who will host the Beach Soccer World Cup from November 21 to December 1, defeated Venezuela 5-4 after extra-time today.

They sit on eight points to the six of Argentina, who were not in action.

Paraguay and Argentina will go up against each other tomorrow with top spot in Group B at stake.

Also winning in Group B were Peru, overcoming Chile 8-5 to secure a third-place finish and a clash with Colombia in the fifth-place play-off.

The top two nations at the event, excluding already-qualified Paraguay, will advance to the Beach Soccer World Cup.
