Ecuador's Neisi Dajomes secured the women's 76 kilograms title as the Pan American Weightlifting Championships continued in Guatemala City.

Dajomes, a double World Championships medallist, lifted a total of 245 kilograms to claim victory at Coliseo Deportivo.

The two-time world junior champion recorded a best snatch lift of 109kg and managed 136kg in the clean and jerk to finish 2kg ahead of Jenny Lyvette Arthur of the United States.

Arthur claimed silver on 243kg, while Kristel Ngarlem of Canada took bronze on 228kg.

Colombian Jhonatan Rivas continued his country's strong run of performances as he triumphed in the men's 96kg division.

Rivas, fourth at last year's World Championships in Ashgabat, lifted 391kg to clinch the overall title.

The 20-year-old hoisted 180kg in the snatch and 211kg in the clean and jerk, ending the competition 19kg ahead of Venezuela's Angel Luna.

Luna earned silver on 372kg, 2kg in front of bronze medallist Satavy Boady of Canada.

D'Angelo Osorio of the United States won the men's 102kg category on a total of 364kg, with Ecuador's Paul Ferrin doing enough for silver on 351kg.

Hernan Viera of Peru claimed bronze on 345kg.

In the women's 81kg weight class, Mexican Anacarmen Torres sealed gold with a total of 233kg, just 1kg more than silver medallist Dayana Mina of Ecuador.

Cuba's Talia Cesar was third on 214kg.
