An international conference looking at training methods, coaching and sports psychology among other topics will be held in Minsk later this month ahead of the European Games in June.

According to Belarusian state news agency BelTA, an “international science and practice conference” focused around the European Games, is scheduled to take place at the Belarusian State Physical Culture University on April 4 and 5.

It will reportedly begin at the headquarters of the Belarusian Olympic Committee (BOC), when an agreement will be signed to create a “research and education cluster” on smart technologies in sport between the Physical Culture University and the Belarusian National Technical University.

It will then continue at the Physical Culture University, where experts from eight countries will, according to BelTA, discuss topics including problems in the selection of potential athletes and training and coaching systems, as well as “medical, biological and biomechanical” sporting aspects.

More than 200 scientists from across countries including Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the United Arab Emirates are expected to attend the conference, which has been organised by the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry in conjunction with the European Games Organising Committee, BOC and the Physical Culture University.
