Hosts Argentina won the men’s and women’s four-person rowing events as action continued today at the South American Beach Games in Rosario.

In the men’s event, Guillermo Ismael Groh, Franco Calvo, Francisco Schoo and Federico Alejandro Pacheco triumphed in 25 min 9sec at the Blue Stadium.

Paraguay took silver in 25:29, while Chile claimed bronze in 26:01.

Securing victory for the home nation in the women’s event were Manuela Regina Messina, Milagros Porta, Evelyn Maricel Silvestro and Maria Martina Geminiani in 28:29.

Chile finished second in 28:51 with Venezuela third in 30:16.

At the Red Stadium, the semi-finalists in the beach football tournament were decided today.

Argentina will play Paraguay in tomorrow’s opening last-four encounter before Brazil face Colombia.

The hosts completed the classification stage with two wins, beating Guyana 9-0 and Colombia 5-3.

Paraguay defeated Ecuador 6-4, while there was a 10-4 win for Brazil against Chile and a 6-5 victory for Colombia against Peru.

The other match saw Peru defeat Guyana 11-4.
