Overall titles will be at stake when the International Ski Federation Cross-Country World Cup season concludes in Québec this weekend.

The men's and women's overall crystal globes are both on the line at the competition in the Canadian city, which begins tomorrow and concludes on Sunday (March 24).

The battle for the men's crown is set to go right to the wire as defending champion Johannes Høsflot Klæbo of Norway has a slender 14-point lead over nearest challenger Alexander Bolshunov of Russia.

Klæbo, who won three gold medals at last year's Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and at the recent World Championships, currently has a total of 1,393 points, with Bolshunov second on 1,379.

The 22-year-old Norwegian star will aim to wrap up a second consecutive overall title with success in both the sprint and distance races scheduled to be held in Québec.

The winner of the women's overall crystal globe has also not been decided, although Norway's Ingvild Flugstad Østberg has a bigger advantage in top spot than Klæbo.

Østberg has 1,424 points, while Natalia Neprayeva of Russia has 1,327 in second place.

It is feasible the Russian could overtake the Norwegian but Østberg is in pole position heading into tomorrow's first day.

Sprint races for men and women will be held tomorrow, before the men's 15 kilometres and women's 10km mass start events take centre stage on Saturday (March 23).

The pursuit races, held over 15km for men and 10km for women, are due to take place on the last day of competition at this season's Cross-Country World Cup circuit.
