Lifters from Mexico and Uzbekistan both achieved a clean sweep of titles in their class as the International Weightlifting Federation Youth World Championships continued in Las Vegas.

Uzbek Kumushkhon Fayzullaeva won the hat-trick of overall, snatch and clean and jerk titles in the women's 64 kilograms division.

Her success was matched by Mexico's Emmy Velasquez Romero, who bagged a treble of her own at 71kg.

Fayzullaeva lifted a combined 215kg for her overall gold at the American entertainment capital's Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino.

She clinched the snatch title with a lift of 93kg and then hoisted up 122kg for the clean and jerk honours.

Queysi Rojas Gonzalez of Mexico won all three silver medals with Mihaela Ilie of Romania taking all three bronze.

Gonzalez lifted 88kg in the snatch and 107kg in the clean and jerk for 195kg overall.

Ilie recorded a snatch of 84kg and a clean and jerk of 106kg to end on a total 190kg.

Velasquez Romero clinched her overall gold medal by lifting a total 214kg.

Snatch gold was secured with 93kg and clean and jerk on 121kg as the Mexican collected a big victory.

American Olivia Reeves collected three silver medals on home soil, lifting 84kg in the snatch and 110kg in the clean and jerk for a combined 194kg.

Estrella Saldarriaga of Peru won overall bronze with 185kg, helped by a snatch third place on 83kg.

Mongolia's Enerel Gombosuren captured the clean and jerk bronze on 105kg but was sixth overall.

One men's category was held today with Saudi Arabia's Ali Yousef Alothman taking the overall 89kg honours.

He lifted 307kg in all to win and also took the clean and jerk title by raising 171kg.

Garik Karapetyan captured the snatch title for Armenia on 137kg but was second overall on 305kg.

That came after he only did enough for clean and jerk bronze on 168kg.

Alothman lifted 136kg for snatch silver, as another Armenian in Gevorg Ghahramanyan also won three medals.

He lifted 134kg for snatch bronze and then 170kg for clean and jerk silver.

It all added up to overall bronze on 304kg.

Action will continue in Las Vegas tomorrow with the women in action at 76kg and 81kg.

The men will tackle the 96kg and 102kg divisions on the penultimate day of competition.
