Chefs de Missions have arrived in Apia to meet officials from the Samoa 2019 Pacific Games Organising Committee.

The event, which will take place in July, is the Pacific region's largest quadrennial Games.

The meeting starts today and will run to March 1.

"Our Organising Committee is putting together a comprehensive programme for the Chefs de Mission gathering this week," an official release said.

"With just 131 days to go, our hope is to inform and familiarise them with all the services that will be made available for them and their athletes at the Games.

"The seminar is one of the key events ahead of the main event in July and we are extremely excited to showcase Samoa's progress thus far."

The meeting will feature a series of presentations from the Pacific Games Office relating to the sports programme, medical programme, anti-doping programme, sponsorship and branding, accommodation and the Athletes' Village.

A presentation on "services overview" is also on the agenda.

This includes catering, transportation, security, freight, accreditation, ceremonies and visa requirements.

In addition to the presentations, the Chefs de Mission will also be provided with a full tour of the Games Village and the sports competition venues, allowing them to gain information about the routes and times necessary for travel.
