Norway claimed a gold and a silver as finals went ahead in the women's super-G and Alpine combined at the International Ski Federation World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships in Val di Fassa.

Their gold came in the super-G where Hannah Saethereng won in 1min 14.54sec, while their silver was taken by Kaja Norbye in the combined.

In a tight super-G contest 19-year-old Saethereng won her first world junior medal of any colour by just 0.14 seconds in front of Austria's Julia Scheib.

Scheib finished in 1:14.68, which in turn was just 600ths of a second faster than Switzerland's Lindy Etzensperger who came third.

In the Alpine combined, while Norbye won silver the gold was taken by Switzerland's Nicole Good.

After a downhill and slalom she triumphed in 2:03.77 at the age of 21.

That saw her win by exactly half a second, although the battle for second was much tighter.

While Norbye took it, she did so by just a 100th of a second ahead of Sweden's Ida Dannewitz.

They came home in 2:04.27 and 2:04.28 respectively.

Tomorrow just one final will go ahead, in the men's giant slalom.
