Winners at the 2019 International Ski Federation Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships will look to continue their form as the World Cup season continues with moguls and aerials events.

The Moguls World Cup event is taking place at the Japanese ski resort of Tazawako. 

It is the penultimate stop of the 2018-2019 moguls season and will consist of a single competition tomorrow and a dual moguls competition on Sunday (February 24).

In the women's competitions, France's Olympic gold medallist Perrine Laffont is currently considered the favourite, with the skier currently leading the World Cup standings with 500 points.

Laffont was also successful at this month's World Championships, winning bronze in the single moguls and gold in the dual moguls. 

Challenging her will be Australia's Jakarta Anthony and Jaelin Kauf of the United States, who are second and third in the standings with 405 and 382 points respectively. 

The recently crowned single moguls world champion Yulia Galysheva of Kazakhstan will also be competing.

In the men's competition, Olympic and world champion Mikaël Kingsbury is considered the clear favourite, with the Canadian currently leading the standings by 170 points.

He currently has 545 points, with France's Benjamin Cavet on 375 points and Sweden's Walter Wallberg on 316 points.

Kingsbury continued his dominance by becoming a double world champion in the single and dual moguls this month.

The Aerials World Cup event is taking place in the Belarusian capital of Minsk, with all the action taking place tomorrow.

It is the second competition to take place after the World Championships, with Moscow hosting the first last weekend. 

The new women's world champion, Aliaksandra Ramanouskya of Belarus, was victorious in Moscow and has moved up to joint second in the standings with 116 points.

She shares the spot with China's Shao Qi, while Shao's compatriot Xu Mengtao is in first with 160 points.

World champion Maxim Burov of Russia will be contending for victory in the men's competition and will be up against compatriot and current World Cup leader, Nikitin Stanislav.
