The United Arab Emirates secured their third consecutive victory at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's Qualifier Asia as they beat Malaysia by 86 runs in Bangkok.

The UAE remain top of the table at the tournament in the Thai capital following their comfortable win over Malaysia at the Terdthai Cricket Ground.

The current leaders posted a total of 125-6 from their 20 overs as Kavisha Egodage top-scored with 44 runs.

Malaysia were then bowled out for just 39 in 13 overs, with Chamani Seneviratne finishing with figures of 3-5.

Hosts Thailand also recorded an important victory today as they overcame Nepal by 57 runs.

Thailand won the toss and batted first, registering a decent score of 124-7 from their 20 overs.

Chanida Sutthiruang led the way for the Thai team from the middle-order as she hit 35 from 29 balls, while opener Naruemol Chaiwai chipped in with 32.

The total always looked beyond Nepal, with Indu Barma providing the only real resistance with a resilient 29.

They were eventually skittled for 67 as Thailand saw out a resounding win.

In the other match held today, China claimed their second successive victory as they defeated Kuwait by nine wickets.

The event offers the top team a place at the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier and the 2020 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
