Having got off to a perfect start with a 3-0 win over Mexico yesterday at the USTA National Campus, Colombia confirmed their spot at the finals in Israel with a 2-1 success over the same opponents today.

Only two women's sides were attempting to qualify for the wheelchair tennis team event.

Elsewhere, the United States' men beat Colombia 2-1 and Mexico beat Guatemala by the same scoreline.

In the opening singles rubber in today's women’s match between Colombia and Mexico, Johanna Sossa beat Rosalba Vazquez Ramos 7-6, 6-1, having won the same tie yesterday by a more comfortable margin of 6-1, 6-1.

Colombia's Johana Martinez then lost the second singles rubber, falling to a 7-6, 6-2 defeat to Claudia Taborada, but playing together Sossa and Martinez were too much for their opponents in the deciding doubles rubber.

They won that 6-1, 6-4 to give their country an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the best-of-three series.

In the men's draw, hosts the US have advanced into the qualifier final with their 2-1 victory over Colombia.

Eighteen-year-old Conner Stroud got them off to a strong start with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Manuel Sanchez before Eliecer Oquendo levelled the tie with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Casey Ratzlaff.

The doubles rubber then went to a deciding tiebreak but top seeds the US did eventually prevail, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.

They will play either Chile or Mexico in tomorrow's final, after Mexico beat Guatemala 2-1 in the other round robin pool.
