Norwegian skiers won one gold and two silver medals to continue the country's success at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Junior Nordic World Championships in Lahti. 

Norway's Thomas Aasen Markeng was triumphant in the men's individual ski jumping event, scoring a total of 252.1 points to secure the gold medal.

He registered two leaps of 97 metres.

In second was Germany's Luca Roth with 250.8 points, while Kazakhstan's Sergey Trachenko finished third with 248.9 points.

Norway also won two silver medals in today's competitions in the Finnish city of Lahti.

Helene Marie Fossesholm came second in the women's classic cross-country 15 kilometres race in a time of 41min 37.4sec.

Sweden's Frida Karlsson won that event in 40:54.3, while Finland's Anita Korva completed the podium with a time of 41:43.4.

Norway's second silver came in the men's classic cross country 30km event, with Haavard Moseby finishing in 1:15:17.1.

Switzerland's Cyril Faehndrich finished just behind Moseby in 1:15:17.2.

In first place was Italy's Luca Del Fabbro after he recorded a winning time of 1:15:16.7.

The only event without a Norwegian athlete on the podium was the women's individual ski jumping competition, which saw Russia's Anna Shpyneva become junior world champion with a total score of 253.1.

She flew out to 89.5m and then 94m.

Her compatriot Lidiia Iakovleva finished in second with 252.4, while Italy's Lara Malsiner took third place with 249.9 points.

After Norway's success today, they have a total of three gold, six silver and five bronze medals, making them the most successful country at the competition so far. 

Action continues tomorrow with the men's 4x5km Nordic combined event and the under-23 15km and 30km cross country competitions.
