Canada's Brooke Voigt and American Lyon Farrell topped qualifying at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup event in Seiser Alm, with the big names away at the Winter X Games.

Voigt scored 88.25 in the women's qualifying event to top the leaderboard, with her compatriot Jasmine Baird in second place with 85.75.

Switzerland's Isabel Derungs, who finished second at last week's slopestyle event in Laax, came third today after recording a score of 84.00.

The men's qualifying saw Farrell come out on top after three heats, scoring 91.00.

Finland's Aleksi Nevakivi recorded the second best score of 89.50 points to also top his heat.

The majority of this season's biggest stars are currently competing in the Winter X Games in Aspen and so are unable to attend the World Cup event in Seiser Alm.

This includes the male and female leaders of the overall slopestyle standings, Chris Corning of the United States and Miyabi Onitsuka of Japan.

The competition will continue on January 26 with the men and women's finals.
