Ten-time winner Trina Gulliver had to come from behind to reach the quarter-finals of the British Darts Organisation Women's World Championship as the men's top seed crashed out.

England's Gulliver last won the title in 2016 and conceded the first set in her first round clash with Polish qualifier Karolina Podgórska today.

She battled back into the contest, however, and clinched the final set 3-2 on legs to progress.

It sets up a last eight meeting with top women's seed Lorraine Winstanley in the last eight.

Elsewhere, men's action continued at the tournament's traditional Lakeside home in Frimley Green in England with second round clashes.

Top seed Mark McGeeney, the runner-up last year, took on fellow Englishman Conan Whitehead and was dumped out 4-0.

England's Scott Waites, a two-time former winner, met Dutchman Richard Veenstra for a place in the last eight and made it through 4-1.

In an all-Dutch battle, Willem Mandigers defeated Wesley Harms 4-2 to earn his quarter-final place.

The 13th-seed will meet fifth-seeded German Michael Unterbuchner who knocked out Wayne Warren of Wales 4-0.
