Sweden and the United States will meet in the men's final of the Curling World Cup in Omaha in what will be a rematch of the Olympic gold medal match at Pyeongchang 2018.

The US secured the lead in Group A after a 7-3 victory over Canada at Omaha’s Ralston Arena.

Their place in the final was confirmed when China, the only team able to knock the US off top spot, suffered a 9-1 defeat to Scotland.

Sweden then beat Norway 7-2 in Group A to progress to the tomorrow's final.

It was the US that claimed the gold medal back in February at Pyeongchang 2018, winning 10-7.

"Tomorrow’s game sounds like a lot of fun," said America's skip John Shuster.

"That’s something we’ve had a lot of chances to talk about [the Olympic final].

"I’m sure Sweden will be really grinding tomorrow to see if they can put one on us."

There will be another rematch in the women's final, with Japan and South Korea recreating the Pacific-Asia Championships final which took place only last month.

Japan defeated China 8-2 to lead Group B, having to wait until Sweden beat Scotland 7-2 before their place in the final was certain.

South Korea also had to wait after their morning 5-3 victory over Canada in Group A.

It was not until the US lost 9-4 to Russia that South Korea progressed into the final.

South Korea will go into tomorrow's game as favourites, having won November's Pacific-Asia Championships final 12-8.

Switzerland qualified for the final of the mixed doubles event yesterday and are scheduled to play Norway's Kristin Skaslien and Magnus Nedregotten, who progressed today after a deciding match with China.

With a place in the final at stake, Norway narrowly beat the Chinese pair of Wang Riu and Dexin Ba 6-5 with Skaslien's final shot.

The finals will be held tomorrow, with the winners of each event gaining a place at the Curling World Cup Grand Final in Beijing next May.
