Four dramatic elimination stage matches determined the last four quarter-finalists at the International Floorball Federation Men’s World Championships in Prague.

Eight teams were contesting the right to meet the first and second teams from groups A and B tomorrow, and Latvia made sure they progressed to a quarter-final against Sweden with a 6-1 win over Slovakia in the 02 Arena.

Denmark edged past Estonia 3-2 thanks to a winning goal from their captain Mikkel Skov Nielsen in the 52nd minute.

The Danes’ reward is a match against the hosts, the Czech Republic.

The third play-off match saw Norway beat Australia 10-0  in Arena Sparta to earn a meeting with Switzerland.

The same Arena then witnessed Germany beat Canada 7-2 to set-up a meeting with Finland.

Organisers also confirmed today that a record crowd of 12,326 watch the Czech Republic's opening day victory over Germany last Saturday (December 1). 

A total of 31,073 floorball fans attended the opening day - also a record.
