Estonian teenager Kelly Sildaru claimed victory in the women’s slopestyle event as action concluded today at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle Skiing World Cup in Stubai in Austria.

The 16-year-old double Winter X Games slopestyle champion, who topped yesterday’s qualification standings, triumphed with a score of 88.46 points at the Stubai Zoo snowpark.

Reigning Olympic champion Sarah Hoefflin of Switzerland finished second with 86.36 points.

Compatriot Mathilde Gremaud came third with 83.46 points.

The women's qualification had initially been due to be held today but was rearranged for yesterday owing to a snowstorm which is forecast to hit the Austrian resort at the weekend.

In the men’s competition, Sweden’s Henrik Harlaut came out on top with 88.88 points. 

The 2018 Winter X Games slopestyle gold medallist won by a margin of 0.80 points over nearest challenger Mac Forehand of the United States.

Norway’s Ferdinand Dahl rounded out the podium with 86.76 points.

The US’s William Borm, who finished first in the qualification session yesterday, had to settle for fourth place with 86.54 points.

Slopestyle action on the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup tour is due to resume on Font Romeu in France from January 10 to 12.
