Defending champions China beat Malaysia in the quarter-finals of the 2018 Badminton World Federation World Junior Mixed Team Championships in Canada, in a repeat of last year's final.

Malaysia, who won the Championships in 2011 but lost in the final to China in 2017, made it through to the quarters with a 5-0 whitewash win over Ukraine in their group.

They were unable to build on that, though, once again falling to defeat against the Chinese with the final score at the Pan Am Centre in Markham reading 3-1.
