The Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) has co-organised a celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the country’s national ski federation.

The event took place at Olympic House in Ulaanbaatar in the presence of Winter Olympians and distinguished local and foreign guests.

Among those in attendance was Munkhbileg Enebish, the head of Mongolia's Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports.

He was joined by Jugder Oto, a MNOC representative, and Damba Khishigsuren, the Mongolian Ski Federation President and a member of the MNOC.

The celebration continued with an inaugural showing of the first-ever documentary film about Olympic skiing in Mongolia.

This was followed by a snow gala at "Dugana Khad" training camp near Ulaanbaatar.

Mongolia have competed at 12 editions of the Winter Olympic Games, starting from Innsbruck 1964, and at all Asian Winter Games, since their inception 1986.

Erdene-Ochiryn Ochirsüren, secretary general of the Mongolian Ski Federation, is a former Olympian having competed in cross-country at Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010.

She was Mongolia's flagbearer at the Vancouver 2010 Opening Ceremony.
