In the junior ladies' solo style dance event at the Artistic Skating World Championships, Maria Beatriz Lopes Sousa of Portugal won the gold medal ©World Skate

Italy won gold in the junior men's solo style dance and the small groups events at the Artistic Skating World Championships at the Vendéspace in Mouilleron-Le-Captif in France. 

Mattia Qualizza won the gold medal in the junior men's solo style dance with 123.500 points.

Brayan Carreno of Colombia got the silver medal with 123.300 points and Portugal's Francisco Silva secured bronze with 114.900.

In the small groups event, two Italian teams came first and second with Roma Roller Team getting 131.600 points  and Division scoring 127.500.

Spanish group CP L'Aldea came third with 124.200 points

In the junior ladies' solo style dance event, Maria Beatriz Lopes Sousa of Portugal finished first with 117.200 points.

Natalie Baldizzone Morales of Spain came in second with 117.100 points and Argentina's Chiara Giron third with 114.400.

Tomorrow's competition is due to see the men's free skating, ladies solo dance, the junior ladies programme and then the solo dance final stage.
