All the medallists have been confirmed, with just the orders to be decided, after the second day of action at the Karate 1-Premier League tournament in Berlin.

Ryutaro Araga, Sajad Ganjzadeh, Irina Zaretska, and Ayumi Uekusa continued the strong performances from grand winners at the event, while Japan extended their success by gaining four more final spots.

Japan took both places in the men’s kata event thanks to Ryo Kiyuna and Issei Shimbaba.

Two-time world champion Kiyuna won all of his bouts by a unanimous 5-0 decision, while Shimbabawho is ranked third world, made it through the semi-finals by split decision 3-2 against Spaniard Damian Quintero.

The world ranking leader beat Timothy Pedersen of The Netherlands by 3-0 in semi-finals and will now face Daniyar Yuldashev of Kazakhstan.

Iran's Ganjzadeh matched Araga’s performance and made the final of the over-84kg division.

The current world champion beat Croatia’s Andjelo Kvesic in the last four 4-3 and will now fight Gogita Arkania from Georgia, who won the world title in 2014.

In the women’s eventsZaretska of Azerbaijan and Japan's Uekusa dominated their respective categories.

Zaretska made the kumite under-68kg final by beating Switzerland’s Elena Quirici 5-0 in the semi-finals, while Uekusa continued her domination of the over-68kg class by beating her team-mate Ayaka Saito.

They will now face Turkey’s Eda Eltemur and Italy’s Clio Ferracuti in their respective gold medal bouts.

The finals will all take place tomorrow.
