The United States produced another superb attacking display as they recorded their second straight victory with a crushing 26-1 win over South Africa at the Women's Water Polo World Cup in Russia.

Paige Hauschild led the way for the reigning world and Olympic champions with seven goals in their comfortable Group B triumph at the Olympic Reserve School sports complex in Surgut.

The US have now scored 44 goals in their opening two matches after they thrashed New Zealand 18-2 yesterday.

They have a goal difference of 41 in top spot in the group and are virtually guaranteed to finish first.

Canada also picked up their second straight win, defeating New Zealand 11-4.

In Group A, hosts Russia are the only team with their 100 per cent record still in tact as they dispatched Australia 14-8.

Spain recovered from their defeat to the host nation yesterday by overcoming winless China 13-7.

All eight teams will qualify for the quarter-finals, with the group stage taking place to determine the seedings for the next round.

The group phase is due to conclude tomorrow.
