Saudi Arabia continued their pursuit of a successful title defence at the International Federation For Athletes With Intellectual Impairments World Football Championships as they booked their place in the final with victory over France in Sweden.

The Saudi Arabian team recorded a comfortable 4-1 win at the Tingvalla IP in Karlstad to set up a meeting with Argentina.

Argentina had earlier triumphed 4-2 on penalties in a dramatic semi-final clash with European champions Poland.

Abdullah Aldosari scored a 16th-minute penalty to give Saudi Arabia, seeking a second straight title, a 1-0 lead over their French opponents.

Abdullah Adam then made it 2-0 before France clawed a goal back through Morgan Lebraud.

Any hopes of a French comeback were dashed in the second-half as Saudi Arabia struck twice before the end of the match.

Ahmed Bu Helal restored their two-goal advantage and Omar Abdullah Kaseer put the gloss on a comfortable victory with their fourth in the dying stages of the contest.

Argentina's game against Poland finished level at 1-1 before both sides scored in the extra period.

It left penalties as the only way of separating the two teams and it was Argentina who held their nerve to progress to Saturday's (August 18) final.

The tournament continues tomorrow with the fifth and seventh-place play-offs.
