Water polo action continued in Hungary ©FINA

Four countries came through play-off clashes today to reach the quarter finals of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Men's Youth World Water Polo Championships in Hungary.

Eight sides were in action today after finishing second or third in their groups.

All four group winners moved directly into the last eight at Tofurdo in Szombathely and Spain, Australia, Hungary and Italy have now joined them.

The Spanish proved too strong for Brazil, winning 14-7.

Australia were also comfortable as they dispatched Colombia 16-5.

Host nation Hungary met the United States and were able to edge home, 10-9.

Russia then took on Italy and it was similarly close, with the Italians going through by the same score.

The last eight games will take place tomorrow.

Australia will play Greece with Croatia meeting Spain.

Montenegro and Hungary will lock horns and Serbia will collide with the Italians.
