Tove Alexandersson of Sweden and Daniel Hubmann of Switzerland are at the top of the International Orienteering Federation's World Cup rankings following the World Championships in Latvia.

The flagship event in Riga earlier this month doubled up as the second of four legs of the 2018-2019 World Cup circuit.

Alexandersson has 460 points at the top of the women's rankings.

She won the long-distance title in Riga and also added the mixed sprint relay gold.

Russia's Natalia Gemperle, the middle distance champion at the World Championships, is second in the World Cup rankings on 363 points.

World sprint champion Maja Alm of Denmark is third on 363.

Hubmann won the sprint title in Riga and also claimed middle distance silver.

He has 412 points at the top of the rankings, a lead of two over compatriot Matthias Kyburz.

Kyburz won sprint bronze in Riga.

Long distance world champion Olav Lundanes of Norway is third in the World Cup on a tally of 300.

Two World Cup legs remain on the calendar.

Østfold in Norway will play host from August 31 and Czech capital Prague will take centre stage from October 4.
