The United States' Gary Woodland continues to lead the US Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Championship on ten-under-par, after a day which saw stormy weather interrupt play at Bellerive.

The 34-year-old followed up his six-under score in the first round with a four-under 66 today, on the course near St Louis.

It makes him just the fifth man to card 130 at the halfway stage of a major, having never previously finished above 12th.

His playing partner Kevin Kisner is second, just one shot back, while another American in world number one Dustin Johnson is tied for fourth on seven-under.

Rickie Fowler, who was second after the first round for the US, is the highest ranked player to not yet finish their second round.

Play was suspended at 5.35pm local time due to the threat of lightning, meaning half of the field will have to complete their second rounds tomorrow morning.

The third round will then begin half an hour after the last group finish their second round.

In the play that was managed today, Kisner started the fastest, making six birdies on the back nine which they played first to go out in 29.

Successive birdies for Woodland on the second and third, however, saw him retake the lead.

Other players to finish their round today included US Open champion Brooks Koepka and South African Charl Schwartzel, who each missed putts on the last which would have given them record equalling rounds of 62.

Tiger Woods is currently three-under but the American multiple major winner was only through seven holes of his second round when play was stopped.

His partners, Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and Justin Thomas of the US, are on level par and two-under par respectively.
