The North American nation won the women's event at the 2014 edition in Toronto but did not appear at the corresponding men's event, held in Incheon in South Korea.

The men's team, who won gold at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, will be co-captained by Bo Hedges and David Eng this time around.

They will be joined by Patrick Anderson, Vincent Dallaire, Nikola Goncin, Colin Higgins, Chad Jassman, Lee Melymick, Tyler Miller, Ben Moronchuk, Garrett Ostepchuk and Jonathan Vermette.

The women's team consists of Sandrine Bérubé, Kady Dandeneau, Erica Gavel, Melanie Hawtin, Maude Jacques, Puisand Lai, Rosalie Lalonde, Tara Llanes, Cindy Ouellet, Tamara Steeves, Élodie Tessier and Arinn Young.

"We congratulate all of the athletes for their hard work and dedication in earning a spot on Team Canada for the 2018 IWBF World Championships," said Wheelchair Basketball Canada high performance director, Jeff Dunbrack. 

"We have two very competitive teams, backed by a strong leadership group and an incredible support staff, and we all look forward to an intense competition in Hamburg. 

"We have made great strides in our development as a programme as we hit the midway point in our quad and continue to build towards Tokyo 2020 and beyond."

The 2018 World Championships are due to take place from August 16 to 26.

Canada have been drawn in Group A alongside Morocco, Iran and Germany in the men's competition. 

They will join Spain, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Brazil and Australia in Group A of the women's tournament.
