Spain's skeleton slider Ander Mirambell has extended his deal with football club RCD Espanyol, who he serves as an ambassador.

The 35-year-old Olympian is tasked with promoting the image of the La Liga club and will continue to do so during his skeleton career.

"The club wants to publicly recognise the difference that the athlete has been making for so many years with the blue and white brand on international circuits," an Espanyol statement said.

"Ander, loved by all the fans, will continue to show, with the pride and honour that characterises him, the colours and the name of Espanyol throughout the planet."

Espanyol, which is based in Barcelona, finished 11th in La Liga last season - Spain's top flight.

Mirambell has competed at three Olympic Games - Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018.

In 2016 he won the overall title at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation's North American Cup competition.

He was unsuccessful in a bid to be elected to the International Olympic Committee's Athletes' Commission at Pyeongchang 2018.
