The University of Innsbruck beat the University of Seville 2-0 to clinch the men's team tennis gold medal as action continued today at the European Universities Games in Coimbra in Portugal.

Patrick Ofner set them on their way to victory at the Coimbra University Stadium’s Tennis Complex by thrashing Iván Marrero Curbelo 6-0, 6-0.

The win was sealed after Mathias Essl defeated Rafael Vega Otaolarruchi 6-2, 6-2.

In the third-place play-off, Camilo Jose Cela University overcame Istanbul Aydin University 2-0.

The women’s team tennis final saw the University of Stirling beat the University of Bordeaux 2-0.

Maia Lumsden defeated Lea Tholey 7-6, 6-4 before Natasha Fourouclas overcame Rachel Girard 6-4, 6-3.

The bronze medal went to Istanbul Aydin University thanks to a 2-0 triumph over AGH University of Science and Technology.

The volleyball finals were also held today with action taking place at the Coimbra University Stadium’s Hall 3.

In the men’s gold medal match, Beykent University beat University Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier 25-23, 25-19, 25-20. 

The University of Lausanne defeated the University of Belgrade 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20 in the women's final.

The men's third-place play-off was won by the University of Nis, who overcame the University of Bologna 25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 25-21.

The University of Rijeka took home the women's bronze medal after defeating Istanbul Aydin University 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-13.

Action in Coimbra is due to continue tomorrow.

Canoe sprint and futsal competition is set to take centre stage.
