Russia, France and Sweden recorded their second group stage victories as the Women's Junior World Handball Championship continued in Debrecen.

The Russian side, runners-up at the last two editions, recorded a 32-19 win over Chile in Group B at the Fonix Hall.

The result saw them end day two at the tournament in the Hungarian city in pole position in the group.

South Korea and Iceland both remain unbeaten following their thrilling draw yesterday as both sides claimed victory today.

The South Korean team beat Asian rivals China 38-29, while Iceland edged Slovenia 24-22.

France backed up their opening day success against Croatia as they comfortably ousted Egypt 37-18 in Group D.

Croatia recovered from their opening loss to France by condemning Germany to a second defeat by a narrow margin, 25-24.

Sweden were also among the winners today as they eased to a 31-24 victory over Spain

Groups A and C will play their second matches tomorrow.

At the end of the group phase, the top four countries in each group will progress to the last 16.

The final will be played at Fonix Hall on July 14.
