Former athlete Federico Rigoni has been named as the new technical director of the Italian ski jumping team.

His appointment has been confirmed by the Italian Winter Sports Association with the squads for the new season also announced.

Sebastian Colloredo, Alex Insam and Davide Bresadola will be the three athletes on the Italian men's A-team for the 2018-2019 campaign.

Federico Cecon and Daniele Varesco will make up the B-squad.

Poland's Lukasz Kruczek will remain as the head coach of the Italian set-up, working with Michael Lunardi who will take charge of the A-team and Ivan Lunardi who will look after the B-team.

The women's squad will be coached by Janko Zwitter with Elena Runggaldier, Lara Malsiner and Manuela Malsiner named in the ranks. 

Two notable changes have been made to the Italian athlete ranks.

Roberto Dellasega retired after last season, while Evelyn Insam has decided to take an indefinite break from ski jumping.
