Six-time winners Argentina and defending champions Brazil maintained their 100 per cent records on day two of the 2018 Pan American Men’s Handball Championship in Nuuk in Greenland.

Argentina beat Puerto Rico 42-18 at Godthåbhallen to make it two wins out of two in Group A.

Brazil, meanwhile, defeated Colombia 42-22 in Group B for their second victory in as many days.

A superior goal difference is all that separates Argentina from Chile and Brazil from Greenland and Uruguay.

Chile overcame Guatemala 39-14 today to preserve their unbeaten start, while Uruguay beat Canada 26-24 and Greenland defeated Paraguay 35-22.

Action in Nuuk is due to continue tomorrow.

The Group A schedule sees Puerto Rico face Guatemala and Chile go up against Peru.

As for Group B, the matches are between Canada and Colombia, Brazil and Paraguay, and Uruguay and Greenland.

The event is offering the final three places for the 2019 World Handball Championship.

Competition is due to run until next Sunday (June 24).
