Swiss Olympic has announced that its "School Moves" initiative is now available as an online platform.

It means those teaching the programme can find information and support all in one place on the internet.

School Moves has the aim of getting Swiss youngsters active.

The project was initially run by the Federal Office for Sport in the country but Swiss Olympic took over last year.

They stepped in to ensure that the project could continue in schools across Switzerland.

Children taking part are encouraged to move regularly during their lessons.

A number of different exercises are included on the new website with teachers able to select which one suits the mood and needs of the class.

Movement tasks can also be set to "activate, calm and learn" while videos are also included.

Rafael Meier, the programme manager for School Moves at Swiss Olympic, backed the scheme.

"With the new, timely format, we will continue to bring a lot of exercise and joy to the classrooms in the future," he said.

Swiss Olympic say they are committed to running the project in the future.

Other supporters include Health Promotion Switzerland and the Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education.
