Russia enjoyed a dominant end to the United World Wrestling Under-23 European Championships as athletes from the nation claimed five of the remaining six men's freestyle gold medals on offer at the event in Turkey.

Individual triumphs for Magomedrasul Idrisov, Zaurbek Sidakov, Arsen-Ali Musalaliev and Khasan Khubaev spearheaded the commanding Russian team to the team crown in Istanbul.

The other available title on the final day of the Championships was claimed by Azerbaijan's Shamil Zubairov.

Idrisov set the tone for a near-Russian monopoly as he thrashed Moldova's Vitalie Bunici 12-1 in the final of the 61 kilograms division, where Teimuraz Vanishvili of Georgia and Ertugrul Kahveci of Turkey took bronze.

Sidakov then made it two from two as he ousted Akhsarbek Gulaev of Slovakia 3-1 in a low-scoring 74kg gold medal bout.

Bronze medals in the category went to Alberts Jurchenko of Latvia and Georgia's Avtandil Kentchadze.

Zubairov's success at 92kg following a comfortable 8-1 win over Irakli Mtsuturi of Georgia in the final briefly broke the Russian dominance.

Turkey's Semih Yazici and Russian Batyrbek Tcakulov were the recipients of the bronze medals.

Normal service was then resumed when Musalaliev dispatched Arif Ozen of Turkey 9-2 in the 86kg final as Armenian Hovhannes Mkhitaryan and Raman Chytadze of Belarus claimed bronze.

The day ended as it had started - with a Russian atop the podium - as Khubaev outclassed Poland's Kamil Kosciolek with victory by fall in the gold medal bout at 125kg.

Huseyin Mehmet Civelek of Turkey and Jere Tapani Heino of Finland each earned bronze.

The performances from the Russian wrestlers saw the nation seal the team title with a huge total of 215 points.

Turkey were second on 125 points, six ahead of third-placed Georgia.
