Australia secured their second quad title in three years as they overcame Israel in the final at the Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup in Apeldoorn.

The Australian team of Dylan Alcott and Heath Davidson combined to secure a 2-1 victory against their Israeli opponents in the Dutch city after they won the crucial deciding doubles rubber.

Australia had to come from behind to seal the crown as London 2012 quad singles gold medallist Noam Gershony comfortably beat Davidson 6-1, 6-1 in the opening singles rubber.

Alcott, the reigning Paralympic champion, restored parity for the Australian team when he thrashed Patrick Ben Uriel 6-0, 6-0.

Ben Uriel stepped in to play the singles match instead of former world number one Shraga Weinberg, who Israel decided to rest for the doubles contest.

Alcott and Davidson broke midway through the first set of the match against Weinberg and Gershony before taking the opener in 32 minutes.

The Australian duo, who both missed last year's World Team Cup through injury, built on that performance as they wrapped up the second set to take the title with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

"I enjoyed today much more than I enjoy most tournaments because you can play with one of your mates and represent your country," said Alcott.

"I’ve had mates Ryan and Gail follow me over from Australia and it meant a lot.

"And we’ve had great support from Brenda [Tierney] and Mel [Platt - Tennis Australia] and the whole team.

"It was really good to back it up from 2016."

United States earned the bronze medal after they ousted defending champions Britain 2-0.

The Netherlands will face China in the women's final for the second year in a row after the Dutch team came through their last four encounter with France.

Aniek van Koot, the world number three, got the Dutch off to the best possible start as she dispatched Emmanuelle Morch 6-4, 6-0.

Diede de Groot then secured The Netherlands' place in the final in style, beating Charlotte Famin 6-0, 6-0.

The tournament concludes with the men's and women's finals tomorrow.
