Kim and So shot a perfect 160 points with eight arrows in their 160-158 victory over Belgium in the semi-finals at the Antalya Archery Field.

They broke the previous mark held by Marcella Tonioli and Federico Pagnoni of Italy, set in the Turkish city two years ago.

It is the third world record broken by the Korean squad during the competition, after Kang Chae-young and the recurve women's team broke ranking round records in qualification.

Sophie Dodemont and Pierre-Julien Deloche of France overcame India's Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma 155-153 in the other mixed compound semi-final.

"I didn't think about [the record]," So said. 

"I just concentrated on the shot as usual. 

"I try never to think about the score."

South Korea will also contest the mixed recurve final after Chang Hye-jin and Kim Woo-jin ousted Yasemin Anegoz and Mete Gazoz of Turkey 5-1.

Chang and Kim will take on Japan's Sugimoto Tomomi and Furukawa Takaharu in the gold medal match.

The Japanese pair defeated Lei Chien-Ying and Jao Ting-Yu of Chinese Taipei 6-2 in the last four.

"I'm going to go inside myself and pull everything out that I need to make it happen," said Takaharu. 

"I like the challenge, and I'd like Korea to try to beat us on Saturday (May 26)."
