The Turkish Taekwondo Federation hosted a development camp in a bid to hone the country's stars of the future.

Youngsters took part across ten days at the Alkoçlar Adakule Hotel in Kuşadası.

The event was known as the Youth and Stars Development Camp with athletes split into either the "juniors" or "stars" sections.

Sixteen athletes were selected in both sections in the various men's and women's weight categories.

The camp took place while Turkey was enjoying a successful European Taekwondo Championships in Russian city Kazan.

The event concluded on Sunday (May 13) with Turkish entrants collecting three gold medals.

All three came in women's events with Rukiye Yıldırım triumphing at under-46 kilograms.

Irem Yaman won the under-62kg gold medal and Nafia Kuş was successful at under-73kg.

Turkey also won four silver medal and two bronze in Kazan.

They finished second on the medal table behind host nation Russia.
